This book offers an intimate approach to Clara Esborraz’s series of drawings, The Broken Hour,
exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires in 2019. As well as providing a visual
journey through the works in the exhibition, it includes a curatorial text by Marcos Krämer and
a biography.

‘Made with ordinary, easily found materials such as biros and ordinary paper, Clara Esborraz’
drawings feature scenes full of everyday objects and spaces that slowly dissolve into surreal
fantasy. Her images deform reality without losing track of it, twisting it into irrational situations
where a tooth or a kettle might be seen crying and a curtain, sweating. Her images create a new
world that lies between real domestic objects and their imaginary actions, between their intimate,
domestic nature and a wide range of feelings and emotions. ’
